What We Do
ACT's range of assessments and reporting systems have been developed with more than 50 years of experience behind them.
Most know us as the nonprofit organization responsible for the ACT test—the college admissions and placement test taken by more than 1.6 million high school graduates every year. In addition, we provide more than a hundred other assessment, research, information, and program management services for education and workforce development. We serve people in elementary and secondary schools, colleges, professional associations, businesses, and government agencies—nationally and internationally. And we are sticklers for accuracy, detail, and inclusion, which is why it can take years to develop a question for one of our tests.
Currently, ACT is developing a next generation assessment system designed to provide students, parents, and educators with the actionable information they need to measure and improve student performance from the earliest grades. This system, ACT Aspire, will help students stay on target to reach their full potential throughout their educational journey.
