IOWA CITY, IowaMichael Eisenstein has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of ACT's Workforce Development Division. He will oversee development, sales and marketing of the company's workforce-related products. Eisenstein is one of two President/COOs within ACT who will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
"In the last decade, ACT has firmly positioned itself as a leader in workforce productivity and development," said Richard L. Ferguson, CEO of ACT. "Michael Eisenstein has a combination of experience and industry knowledge that will aid ACT tremendously in reaching its corporate goals."
ACT's Workforce Development Division is responsible for several key corporate initiatives:
Eisenstein brings 28 years of experience in electronic publishing, e-learning, assessment and testing curriculum, and professional publishing to ACT. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Product and Business Development at Peterson's, a Division of Thomson Learning, where he produced award-winning e-learning products for education markets. He has also held senior management positions at LexisNexis and the e-learning subsidiaries of several major universities, including eCornell. Eisenstein is an attorney, having practiced appellate law for more than 20 years, and is a member of the Federal and New York Bars. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Syracuse University and a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. He will reside in Iowa City with his wife Robin, and their two children, Melissa, 21, and Sherry, 16.
