IOWA CITY, IowaACT announced today that it has been chosen by the American Board of Vascular Medicine (ABVM) to develop and deliver two computer-delivered physician certification exams. The tests will be delivered in summer 2005.
"The computer-delivered testing format is current with today's market," said Dr. Bruce Gray, co-director of the ABVM. "The vascular medicine field changes on a daily basis, and we will be able to incorporate these data into the test on a regular basis. ACT has the resources and breadth of services to meet the needs of the ABVM."
The ABVM has requested the creation of two new exams that will certify physicians' knowledge and skills related to the fundamentals of vascular medicine and endovascular medicine. ACT will train ABVM content specialists in item-writing techniques, edit their exam items and prepare the exams for computer-based delivery.
When completed, the exams will be available for delivery at ACT Center sites across the country. More than 200 ACT Center sites deliver computer-based testing and training throughout the country and are housed at community colleges, universities and workforce development organizations.
ACT produces and delivers high-stakes professional certification and licensure exams for more than 30 client organizations nationwide, including the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Otolaryngology, American College of Physicians, the Association of American Medical Colleges, Association of Social Work Boards and the National Conference of Bar Examiners.
