Three Wisconsin High School Students Win ACT Poster Contest

IOWA CITY, Iowa—Three Wisconsin high school students swept the 2008 ACT High School Poster Contest, which challenged students in Florida, Oregon, Texas and Wisconsin to create a poster encouraging other students to take the ACT test as their college entrance exam and to attend college.

The scholarship winners are:

Garrett Knoll of Oneida, a student at Ashwaubenon High School, won the grand prize of a $5,000 college scholarship.
Ann Daugherty of Glendale and a student at Nicolet High School won the second place prize of a $2,500 scholarship.
John Lemberger of Two Rivers who will graduate from Two Rivers High School received a $1,000 scholarship as the third-place winner.

From the original pool of nearly 200 entries, 10 were selected as finalists by a panel of judges. Those entries were posted on the ACT website where visitors voted for their favorite. Taking the public vote into consideration, a second panel chose the grand prize winner and runners-up based on creativity, originality, visual appeal and overall impact.
