The Condition of College Readiness 2009

Since 1959, ACT has remained committed to its mission of helping people achieve education and workplace success. At the heart of that commitment is 50 years of empirical data demonstrating the critical role that academic preparation in middle and high school has on the success of high school graduates in college and work. And providing that data to education policymakers and practitioners who can improve our educational system is an important part of this work.

Using ACT® test scores and the ACT College Readiness Benchmarks, The Condition of College Readiness 2009 provides a series of graphical pictures highlighting the college readiness of the ACT-tested high school class of 2009. It seeks to answer this question: How college ready are the ACT-tested 2009 high school graduates?
