IOWA CITY, Iowa—ACT has named Suzana Delanghe, an e-learning executive with more than 20 years of experience in organizations around the globe, as its chief commercial officer.
As CCO, Delanghe will be responsible for expanding and enhancing the nonprofit organization’s customer relationships, working to maximize the value of its products to customers, and helping lead change throughout the organization.
“Suzana has a remarkable record of success in cross-cultural leadership and online education and assessment,” said Marten Roorda, ACT chief executive officer. “At companies operating in the United States, Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and throughout the Americas, she has led entrepreneurial teams in every market sector—business-to-business, business-to-customer, and business-to-government.”
Currently based in France, Delanghe was born in Brazil and has also lived, worked, and studied in the United States. She speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and French.
Her background includes directing the “e-assessment” unit for learndirect, the United Kingdom’s leading online education provider for working populations. At learndirect, she brought learndirect English from concept to market. The program, endorsed by Cambridge University, uses immersive, real-life simulations to help its users develop their English skills.
“Access to education is essential to providing students opportunities in their lives, and when enough students have opportunities, societies change—for the better,” said Delanghe. “Innovation and disruption are more than buzz words. Technology can improve the way people are assessed, making it more relevant and meaningful, and can literally change students’ lives. I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues at ACT as we establish ourselves at the forefront of technology and positive social change.”
Delanghe has also held leadership positions at Capita, Pearson VUE, Promissor, SumTotal and Oracle. At each firm she led multinational teams developing business and delivering online educational services in an international context. She holds a BS in computer science from UNA University in Brazil.
Delanghe will officially begin her duties at ACT on February 16, 2016.
