"Employers work to make things predictable, uniform, and certain. Predictability, uniformity, and certainty are universal goals of executives. The NCRC does this for the hiring process." Mac McElroy, past president, Michigan Manufacturers Association.
In our region the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is gaining greater and greater recognition with employers and potential employees. Sixty three local employers have signed a letter of commitment to the program, and efforts taken by the partners are proving to be successful and will be built upon in the very near future. Some of the "Next Steps" identified by the partners are to "grow" the number of career technical education programs that support student completion of the NCRC at Western Iowa Tech Community College. The business programs at the community college have elected this certification, and other programs are now being identified that will also sponsor student certification as students complete their formal studies and enter the work world.
