Danser was also exposed to standardized testing for the first time as a CV Tech student. He took the WorkKeys test, which is a test created by ACT to measure workplace readiness. CV Tech administers testing in three areas: Reading for Information, Locating Information and Applied Mathematics. Danser received Gold status, which only 20 percent of test takers across Oklahoma achieve. He began taking the college entrance exam, ACT, while a student at CV Tech. “I knew how important my ACT score was to getting into college, and to earning scholarship money,” Danser said. “After taking the test, I knew I needed to improve my math score in order to raise my overall composite. Although I wasn’t enrolled in a math class at CVTC, math teacher James Byrd helped me by showing me basic trig and other methods of completing math problems that I didn’t know. His help allowed me to raise my math score, and raise my overall score by four points.”
