SEL Success for Educators

Maximize educators’ effectiveness with a Mosaic by ACT SEL curriculum preparation course. This course ensures a solid understanding of the curriculum, helps develop and model social and emotional competencies, and offers strategies for enhancing SEL supports like classroom environments and relationships. It also covers interpreting SEL assessment reports, integrating skills across the curriculum, and using trauma-informed practices.
SEL Success Champions

LENGTH: 2 days (12 hours)
The SEL Champions program boosts district-wide SEL implementation by enhancing knowledge of the Mosaic™ by ACT® curriculum and assessments. ACT experts support champions in developing their own social and emotional skills, evaluating school-wide supports, and ensuring effective implementation. Typically, each school has one or two SEL champions, along with district leaders who also serve as champions.
Trauma-Informed SEL Annual Subscription

LENGTH: 3 lessons
This three-lesson course is offered on demand and introduces educators to trauma-informed practices that they can use in their classrooms and schools to support their students. Learn how to understand the impacts of trauma on behavior and learning and some classroom strategies to best address trauma-sensitive schools.
Trauma-Informed SEL Workshop

LENGTH: 3 hours
This is an alternate version of the trauma-informed course. This live three-hour workshop introduces educators to trauma-informed practices such as the impact of trauma on behavior and learning, and how to understand a trauma-sensitive school and how it functions. These concepts can be used in their classrooms and schools to support students.
Teaching SEL and ELA Together

Examine some of the primary ways SEL can be integrated into core academic curriculum, with a particular emphasis on the evidence-based ACT® Holistic Framework® core skills: Sustaining Effort, Getting Along with Others, Maintaining Composure, and Keeping an Open Mind. Engage in a series of model exercises that can be implemented as is or adapted to fit your student’s needs.
Teaming with Parents for SEL

Guide educators in understanding the importance and value of helping parents develop their students’ social and emotional skills outside the classroom. Explore ways of communicating, setting up school-home connections, and providing home activities for parents.
Culturally Responsive SEL

Social and emotional skills are universally valuable, yet often culturally specific. Learn how to teach students strategies to acknowledge and respect ways in which students from diverse backgrounds may practice their skills differently. Explore ways in which cultural affirmation can be enhanced within social and emotional skill development.
Using SEL Assessment for Student Support: Data Dashboard Training

In this interactive workshop, participants will explore the Mosaic by ACT SEL Assessment dashboard, learning to use its tools — like filters and sorting — to analyze data on students' social and emotional needs. The session includes a hands-on "scavenger hunt" to practice these skills and plan targeted supports.
