ACT Enhancements: Supporting Student Success for K-12 Leaders
ACT is dedicated to evolving alongside the needs of students and educational institutions, ensuring that its assessments remain relevant, accessible, and effective. The latest enhancements offer students greater flexibility while preserving the validity and reliability that K-12 leaders rely on for guiding students toward successful pathways in higher education.
Starting in April 2025 for students who opt to test online, the ACT will be shortened, and the science section will become optional. These changes will extend to the paper test format beginning in September 2025. The Composite score will now be based on English, math, and reading, with science reported separately for students who choose to take it. This update allows institutions to make data-driven admission and scholarship decisions seamlessly, empowering K-12 leaders to better prepare their students for college and career success.
