In this program, you will study accounting and its related business functions. Studies include accounting principles and theory; financial, managerial, and cost accounting; budget control, tax accounting, and business information systems. This includes legal aspects of accounting, auditing, reporting, and statement analysis. You will become familiar with accounting professional standards and ethics, and how to apply them to for-profit, public, and non-profit organizations.
Degrees
- A certificate or associate degree may qualify for accounting technician or bookkeeper positions.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting is required by most public accounting and business firms for accounting positions.
