In this program, you will develop the technical knowledge and skills needed to produce radio and television programs and related operations under the supervision of broadcast and studio managers, directors, editors, and producers. You will study sound, lighting, and camera operations and maintenance, power and feed control, studio operations, and production preparation. You will also learn about broadcast engineering, related computer applications, and specialized applications such as news.

Degrees

• A certificate or an associate degree prepares individuals to operate communications equipment and perform other hands-on support jobs like camera operator, video producer, and lighting technician.
• A bachelor's degree will provide more in-depth training for sound and broadcast engineering jobs.
• A graduate degree will provide opportunities in management and in teaching.
