Work Tasks

ADVERTISING MANAGERS oversee advertising and promotion workers. In small firms, managers may serve as a liaison between the firm and the advertising agency where many advertising functions are contracted out. In large firms, managers oversee the in-house account, creative, and media services departments. Managers coordinate the advertising, promotion, pricing, product development, and public relations activities. They determine the size of the advertising budget, the type of media for the ad, and the advertising agency to use. If an agency is used, managers work with specialists from the agency.
