AUTO SERVICE STATION ATTENDANTS service automobiles, buses, trucks, boats, and other automotive or marine vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and accessories. They check the oil level in engines, water level in radiators, and fluid level in automatic transmissions. Attendants sell and install antifreeze, and sell and replace lights, windshield wiper blades, tires, batteries, and fan belts. They also clean windshields and check tires for correct air pressure. Attendants take payment for services completed. Attendants may also sell food, beverages, cigarettes, and other items.

Entry Requirements
Most employers prefer to hire AUTO SERVICE STATION ATTENDANTS who have a high school diploma or its equivalent. On-the-job training is generally provided. A driver's license is necessary.
