Meter Reader
PrintWork Tasks
METER READERS read electric, gas, water, or steam usage meters, and record the amounts used by customers in both residential and commercial establishments. They walk or drive along their routes to take these readings. Meter readers record the data in a route book or hand-held computer. If they cannot get the readings, they either estimate the amount used or leave postcards for the customer to fill out. Meter readers keep a record of receipt and completion of meter service.
