PrintWork Tasks
NURSERY/GREENHOUSE MANAGERS are responsible for the day-to-day operation of indoor and outdoor facilities that grow trees, plants and vegetables. Nursery and greenhouse managers grow all kinds of horticultural plants, including trees, shrubs, flowers, ornamental plants, or vegetables to sell to wholesale or retail customers. Most nursery stock is grown outside, while tender plants that need a controlled environment are grown inside the greenhouses. Nursery and greenhouse managers determine the type and quantity of plants to be grown, according to market demand; utilizing knowledge of plant germination, growing habits of plants, soil conditions, plant nutrients, and disease control requirements.
