In this program, you will learn how to assist a teacher in both regular or special classroom settings, and how to tutor adults in basic reading. You will study instructional techniques, classroom supervision, technical equipment operation, and how to assist with lessons and carry out related assignments. You will take courses which will develop a broad base of general knowledge, such as sociology, psychology, and sciences, and you will study the general principles and special skills and activities necessary in the classroom.

- An associate degree prepares individuals to become a teacher's aide or instruct adults in basic reading programs in school, institutional, community, and private settings.
