In this program, you will focus on how to provide and manage child care services. You will learn to plan, design, and manage child care facilities and programs that meet children's developmental needs and interests and that provide safe and healthy environments. You will study child development and psychology; home- and institution-based child care; identification of diseases, injuries, and psychological trauma; and parent relations.
Degrees
- A certificate program or an associate degree may prepare for support or paraprofessional positions with social service agencies or in child care facilities.
- A bachelor's degree is desirable for most positions, such as in nursing, nutrition, as a social worker, or manage a home- or institution-based child care facility.
