In this program, you will learn how to help people with physical and functional impairments, by the design and use of therapeutic interventions. This program will prepare you for admission to physical therapy school. You will study functional anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, neuroscience, pathological physiology, movement dynamics, and the physical growth process. You will also learn about musculoskeletal disorders, clinical evaluation, client assessment, care plan development, physical therapy modalities, and rehabilitation psychology.
Degrees
- A certificate prepares individuals for a job as a physical therapy technician or assistant.
- A bachelor's degree is required to be a physical therapist, and many physical therapists have a master's degree. Jobs may be found in hospitals, schools, clinics, public or private human service agencies, industry, community health organizations.
- A graduate degree is required to work in management, research, or college teaching.
