This major focuses on specific aspects of rehabilitation and therapeutic professions not listed elsewhere, such as art, dance, music, and recreational therapy; vocational rehabilitation counseling; kinesiotherapy; and rehabilitation engineering. For this major you will take some general courses in the field of rehabilitation and therapy and a number of highly specialized courses in the specific subject area. For programs at the certificate or associate degree level, most of the courses may be specific to the topic of your choice.
Degrees
- A bachelor's degree is usually required in a specialty area, such as art, dance, music, etc.
- A graduate degree in these major programs provides training in the therapy aspects of the particular specialty. Jobs may be found in hospitals, schools, clinics, public or private human service agencies, industry, community health organizations.
- Certification may be required depending on the specialty.
