In this program, you will learn general animal sciences such as breeding and husbandry of agricultural animals; production, processing, and distribution of animal products; prevention and control of diseases in agricultural animals; animal nutrition, dairy science, livestock management, and poultry science. You will study the biological diversity between cattle, swine, poultry, and horses, and the role which animals play in our society and in global economy. You will learn how marketing of animal and poultry products affects our eating habits.

Degrees

• A career-technical program certificate, with specialization, prepares individuals to be a veterinary technician, animal groomer, caretaker or trainer.
• A bachelor's degree is helpful to enter many scientific occupations related to this major in areas such as animal health and disease prevention, genetics research, dairy science, zoology, teaching, or for government agencies.
