In this program, you will learn how to plan, develop, and run programs to protect and regulate natural habitats and renewable natural resources. You will learn about legal policies with regard to natural resources and their management. You will study wildlife biology, animal population surveys, economics, conservation theory and practices, and administration of natural resources. The program is interdisciplinary and you will take courses from different fields of study, which revolve around the central issues of natural resources management and policy.
Degrees
- Graduates may begin as a forester or range manager with the U.S. Forest Service or Department of Agriculture, private industry, consulting firms, or research institutes.
- Graduates with an advanced degree may qualify for advancement in management, upper-level research positions, and work in various agencies and bureaus of the government, private industry, or higher education.
