In this program, you will study the development and management of indoor and outdoor recreational and leisure facilities which are used by the general public. You will learn about supervision of support personnel, facility maintenance, resource acquisition, health and safety practices and standards, public relations, and basic business and marketing principles.
Degrees
- A certificate or associate degree prepares you for specific jobs in the operation of recreational facilities.
- A bachelor's degree prepares you to manage recreational facilities for public, private, and clinical recreation agencies, in youth and senior citizen services, and in other human service agencies.
- A graduate degree is usually required for work in management positions and for college teaching.
