Area Studies, General includes all areas not listed separately. You will focus on the history, society, politics, culture, and economics of one or more of the peoples in the area you are studying.

Degrees

• A bachelor's degree is often required to enter occupations related to these majors, such as consultant, translator, diplomat, or foreign service officer.
• A graduate degree is usually required for advancement into administrative positions in business or in the field of higher education.
