In this program, you will learn to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills to help engineers, engineering contractors and other professionals engaged in the construction of buildings and related structures. You will study basic structural engineering principles; building techniques; site inspection and supervision; construction personnel development and supervision; site plan, blueprint, and specifications interpretation; materials procurement; construction logistics; building code identification and interpretation; and report preparation.
Degrees
- A certificate or associate degree is sufficient for entry-level jobs as a construction technician.
- Two-year graduates will have the opportunity to take a responsible position in an engineering or other construction-related company.
