Interior Architecture

In this program, you will learn how to design building interiors that contribute to the well being of people for living, recreational, and business purposes. You will study the history of building and architecture, basic design, and drawing. You will also take studio courses, and learn how to solve problems related to designing architectural interiors. You will have contact with other designers, and participate in field trips to museums. You will also study structural systems design, heating and cooling systems, occupational and safety standards, interior design, computer drafting, and building lighting.
Degrees
- A four-year non-professional or a five-year professional degree in interior architecture are available.
- A master's degree in architecture, depending upon undergraduate degree, will need up to three years' additional study at a graduate or professional school.
- An advanced degree is required to teach in higher education.
