This broad major will orient you to construction trades as a whole. You will develop the knowledge and skills in building, inspecting, and maintaining structures and related properties. You will learn how to hang, tape, spackle, and sand drywall using hand and power tools. You will study methods of hand and spray painting, wallpaper application, and installing various types of floor coverings. You will learn about cutting, glazing, and installing glass in windows and doors, and insulation application. These programs require hours of hands-on experience.
Degrees
- Graduates with a certificate or associate's degree in a construction trade may find work opportunities in the building industry, management, government, or become self-employed.
