This program prepares individuals to practice medicine, including diagnoses and treatment therapies, under the supervision of a physician. You will study basic medical and clinical sciences and specialized preparation in fields such as family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, general surgery, and psychiatry. You will also learn about the delivery of health care services to homebound patients, rural and underserved populations, and community health services.
Degrees
- A certificate or associate degree program qualifies for work in entry-level positions within the physician assisting field.
- Training at the four-year college or graduate school level is recommended if you are interested in management-level positions or teaching.
