This program prepares you for the practice of medicine, including the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses, injuries, and other disorders. You will study basic medical science, clinical medicine, examination and diagnosis, and patient communications. You will learn about medical ethics and law, and professional standards. You will have rotations in specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, neurology, ophthalmology, radiology, clinical pathology, anesthesiology, family medicine, and others.
Degrees
- Pre-medical studies begin at a two-year college and transfer to a four-year college to complete the degree.
- A bachelor's degree is required for entrance into medical school.
- Pre-Medical school graduates may become biologists, dentists, geneticists, nurses, pharmacists, health care administrators, biochemists, or others.
