In this program, you will learn to work in consultation with, and under the supervision of physicians, to prevent and treat sports injuries and associated conditions. You will learn how to identify, evaluate, and treat athletic injuries and illnesses. You will also study first aid and emergency care, therapeutic exercise, anatomy and physiology, sports psychology, and various sports and their biomechanical and physiological demands, and applicable professional standards and regulations.
Degrees
- A certificate in a specific program will qualify for work in entry-level positions within the athletic training field.
- A bachelor's degree is required for jobs as school coaches, physical therapists, and sports instructors.
- A graduate degree is required for management-level positions.
