In this program, you will learn about the role of food and nutrition in individual human health and wellness. You will study issues related to the planning and provision of food services, food product consumption, nutritional care and education, and food services management. You will also learn about the relationship of food and nutrition to disease and nutritional needs across the human life span. This program will prepare you to work in a profession which is committed to the nutritional health of the individual and society.
Degrees
- An associate degree is the minimum requirement for entry into many positions within this field.
- A bachelor's degree is desirable for most positions, especially for teaching at the secondary level, consulting, or working in food service management or in public health administration.
- A graduate degree is usually necessary to teach in higher education.
