In this program, you will learn about the process and techniques of original composition in various forms of literature. You will use your own works to develop writing skills specific to a form of writing, such as essay, short story, novel, poetry, and drama. This program includes instruction in technical and editorial skills, criticism, and marketing of finished manuscripts. The course work may include literature studies, writing workshops, and courses in humanities, sciences, and mathematics.
Degrees
- A bachelor's degree is desirable for most positions, especially teaching at the secondary level or working in journalism or publishing.
