In this program, you will study human beings and their origins. This includes their physical nature, adaptation to environmental changes over time, interpersonal relationships, and social/cultural behavior. You will learn about similarities and differences between humans and other primates, and humans and other humans. You will study biological and physical anthropology, human paleontology and prehistoric archaeology, hominid evolution, sociocultural anthropology, and applications to medicine, museum studies, international affairs, etc..
Degrees
- A bachelor's degree is a good background for many occupations in business, government, communications, and social services.
- A graduate degree is usually required to work in the field; graduates may find opportunities in archaeology, social work, and diplomatic or foreign service.
- A doctoral degree is required to do research, set up exhibits in a museum, or teach in college.
