In this program, you will learn how, under the supervision of occupational therapists, to show patients skill-enhancing, learning, and motivational tasks, correct or diminish pathologies, and to provide direct health education services. You will study the human life span development; occupational therapy principles and practice skills; and treatment planning and implementation. You will also learn about record-keeping and documentation, patient education and intervention, activity and program direction, and assistive services management.
Degrees
- A certificate may prepare individuals for a job as an occupational therapy assistant.
- A bachelor's degree is recommended if you are interested in management level positions, teaching, or administrative support occupations.
