In this program, you will learn how to counsel disabled individuals and recovering patients in psychological, personal, social, and vocational adjustment in order to have fulfilling and productive lives. You will study patient evaluation and testing, rehabilitation program planning, patient support services and referral, and job analysis. You will also learn adjustment psychology, rehabilitation services provision, patient counseling and education, laws and regulations, and professional ethics.
Degrees
- A certificate may prepare you for a job as a vocational rehabilitation assistant.
- A bachelor's degree is required to be a vocational rehabilitation counselor. Jobs may be found in hospitals, schools, clinics, public or private human service agencies, industry, community health organizations.
- A graduate degree is required if you wish to work in management, research, or college teaching.
